Psychic Salve

Psychic Salve

This salve is a collaboration between Bonny and her mother, a folk herbalist and psychic who has lived on Salt Spring Island for the last forty years. She is, in the truest sense of the word, a hippy: someone who arrived, stayed, and spent four decades learning the plants around her. Many of the oil infusions in this salve are her own.

The name is a tribute to her, and to what she brings to the making: a quality of attention that goes beyond the recipe.

What's in it, and why

Calendula — slow-infused in oil over weeks by Bonny's mother, not steeped and pressed. Used for centuries to soothe irritation, soften dry or weathered skin, and support the skin's natural repair process.

Lavender — infused alongside the calendula. Lavender calms on two levels: the surface of the skin, and the nervous system beneath it. It's what makes this salve feel like an exhale.

The base — shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba, argan oil, and local beeswax from Salt Spring Island. Rich, deeply skin-compatible, and chosen to carry the infused oils properly. No fillers, nothing inert.

How to use it

  • On dry hands, cuticles, elbows… anywhere skin is asking for repair

  • On pulse points or the back of the neck before sleep, or whenever you need to come back to yourself

  • Over irritated, wind-chapped, or weathered skin

  • As a small evening ritual: warm a little between your fingers, breathe in the lavender, apply slowly

Made in small batches on Salt Spring Island, BC.

2oz amber jar.
